A nonvenomous species of snake native to North America, the rough green snake is sometimes colloquially referred to as the grass snake. It is remarkably docile and its bite, although rare, is harmless. Despite its calm personality, it is not commonly owned as a pet. Scientific Name: Opheodrys aestivus.
